Airlines are experiencing problems to find passengers. Many people prefer to stay in the safety of their home rather than traveling the world. Although some carriers are offering inexpensive tickets, quite a few are still asking high prices. But rebooking a flight is now practically free.
Some airlines are trying to entice flyers by attaching new and in some cases interesting conditions to their tickets. One of them is Emirates.
If you book your flight on Emirates you’ll automatically receive free cover for COVID-19 related cost. Thus, it does not only cover health cost, but also quarantine costs if you’re diagnosed with the coronavirus on your travels.
The cover is valid for 31 days from the moment you take your first flight. Expenses require pre-approval and the cover is subject to terms and conditions.
Assistance is available at any time when you fly between July 23 and October 31, 2020. There is a free 24-hour hotline support number. The cover is global, free for all customers, applies to every travel class and is valid for 31 days.
Rebooking for free
Note that the cover is limited to COVID-19 health expenses up to €150,000 ($175,000). Moreover, quarantine costs are covered up to €100 ($118) per day for 14 days.
Another temporary novelty at Emirates is that you can extend the validity of your ticket up to 24 months from the date you made your original booking. The fare amount you paid for your original booking will be accepted for a new flight with no fee.
Limited choice for another destination
You can choose for the same destination, while you have a limited choice for another city as that must be in the same region. For example, if your original destination was in Europe, you must choose the same or another city in Europe. The only thing you need to do, is calling the contact center when you’re ready to reschedule your flight.
