Four Seasons Resort Lanai, HawaiiU.S. News & World Report presents a ranking of the best hotels in the USA. It is based on an analysis of a number of underlying components. They include industry awards and recognition, hotel star ratings or hotel class and guest ratings.

Ranking the best hotels

Multiple sources have been reviewed to estimate the mean-average hotel class rating for each hotel. The editors believe this is an unbiased approach that makes their rankings more useful than simply providing the editors' personal opinions.

Note that some of the properties listed may be currently closed due to the coronavirus outbreak. But they are expected to reopen soon and new policies may be in place.
